April 2024 Lower Manor Audit

Since Oct 2023 two of the biggest challenges have been anti-social behaviour and the general appearance of the estate.

Working with you, our customers, our Safer Communities team and South Yorkshire Police has enabled us to identify a number of perpetrators that have been causing problems. This has mainly been young people in the area stealing bins and causing a nuisance. A number of these young people have been prosecuted by South Yorkshire Police but we continue to monitor anti-social behaviour incidents to make sure that swift action is taken.

Keeping green spaces well maintained has been a priority following the last estate inspection in November 2023. Findings from the inspection highlighted further action was needed to keep your estate clean, tidy and well maintained.

What did we do?

  • We invested in extra Grounds Maintenance works were it was needed.
  • We removed large amounts of fly tipping
  • We replaced the small black bins in a number of our blocks with larger Biffa bins to reduce refuse overspill.
  • We introduced a Garden Pledge, which is a free garden service to our most vulnerable customers.
  • Did you know that as a valued Acis customer you can contact Sheffield City Council to dispose of 9 bulky items for you free of charge!

What's next?

  • The green space just off Allison Crescent is to be cleared of all fly tipping and cut back
  • We're organising a neighbourhood litter pick day
  • Keep an eye out for our Acis in bloom competition coming soon.
